Claire Maxfield uses photography to tell stories about her own life and experiences.
“I take photographs constantly, sometimes I understand why, but a lot of the time I just have a gut feeling to photograph something.
It’s usually some time afterwards that the visual elements begin to tie together in a story. I don’t begin with a project idea, the project and the stories reveal themselves to me slowly, like a personal journey.
I photograph using film, and using different formats. Sometimes colour sometimes black and white.
The physical process is important to me, the act of taking the photograph is as important as the photograph itself.”
